about gar powell-evans

Gar has worked as a photojournalist and editorial photographer since graduating in the mid 1990s from the London College of Printing with a PgDip in Photojournalism.  Prior to that he had been an avid traveller and occasional surveyor, roustabout, merchant seaman, travel writer and photographer.

 

Since graduating he has been published around the world and worked for clients including The Independent, The BBC, Geographical Magazine, Save the Children, Houses of Parliament and The Barbican.

For the last 12 years he has shot a weekly column about art and culture in London for the Croatian magazine Gloria.

 

Gar divides his time between London and the Scottish Borders. He has wide experience of all aspects of editorial photography including portraiture, news, festivals, ballet, theatre, exhibitions, interiors, architecture and art.
